Before going into the practice of law, Alan Fassonaki served as Director of Operations for an international company in the credit and collection industry. After spending over 10 years in credit and collections, Alan started his legal education and began apprenticeship programs with the Los Angeles District Attorney and a personal injury attorney. While working full-time – managing a large caseload of personal injury and tort-related claims – Alan pursued his undergraduate degree and juris doctor. At law school, Alan received multiple awards for academic excellence and graduated with magna cum laude honors. After passing the California State Bar Examination, Alan took on employment for a public company in the East Bay Area where he served as in-house counsel for the organization. Alan’s legal focus was contracts law, regulatory compliance, federal and state litigation, and corporate governance (policies, procedures, and the like).
Before becoming an attorney, Alan started several successful businesses. While in law school, he formed a business, California Law Pros, which served as a service provider to several law firms and attorneys. Following law school, Alan formed multiple companies for real-estate investment businesses. His work included formation of the businesses, operating agreements, registrations and other company formalities.
Alan has also represented commercial landlords with corporate leases (review and drafting), unlawful detainers and tenant disputes. He assists commercial landlords and residential landlords with lease preparation, negotiation and litigation. Alan has continued his legal studies in landlord-tenant law and has donated his time to low-income landlords in the East Bay Area with pro bono legal services related to unlawful detainers for eviction and monetary damages.
As in-house counsel, Alan assisted a financial services company with litigation, regulatory compliance, policies and procedures, and contract drafting. This includes responding to state regulatory departments and application submissions for licensure. Alan also supported the business with review and drafting of new business contracts.
After serving as in-house counsel in the East Bay Area, Alan moved back to Southern California to start his law practice with his wife and law partner, Nicole Fassonaki.
